On September 12, I attended the workshop “The Inclusiveness of Ming Dynasty Thought” at East China Normal University. The participants were primarily from the field of Chinese philosophy, but the event also included scholars specializing in Chinese Islam and Catholicism, as well as scholars from Japan and South Korea, reflecting the workshop’s spirit of “inclusiveness” and “openness.” I gained a great deal from the experience. Unfortunately, since I had to leave early, I was unable to visit the exhibition. I would like to thank Professor Fang Xudong, a fellow townsman, for the invitation.
