Speaker Biography: Ronnie Po-chia Hsia, born in 1955, received his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1982. He currently serves as Distinguished Professor at Pennsylvania State University, Academician of Academia Sinica in Taiwan, and Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Institute for Chinese Christian Culture at Tao Fong Shan, Hong Kong. His primary research focuses on modern European history and Sino-Western cultural exchange during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Author of over ten works including Reformation Europe 1480-1580, The World of Catholic Renewal, 1540-1770, Trent 1475: Stories of A Ritual Murder Trial, and Social Discipline in the Reformation: Central Europe, 1550-1750.
