Shortly after I left home yesterday at noon, it started pouring rain. With no other choice, I took shelter under a ginkgo tree at the school gate, but I still ended up soaked to the bone. An elderly man kindly gave me a new raincoat. I offered to pay him, but he declined, thanked me repeatedly, and then went back to his office, looking rather bedraggled.
This stranger’s kindness helped lift the gloom that had been weighing on my heart lately.
