On the 20th day of the twelfth lunar month, I headed home. Since I was driving back, I feared the long drive would be too tiring, so I stayed overnight in Tai'an. The next day, I even climbed Mount Tai. I took a bus from Tianwai Village to Zhongtianmen for the ascent, then walked down from the summit to Hongmen. The mountain isn't very high, but the steps are narrow and numerous. My legs ached for several days afterward.
On the 22nd day of the twelfth lunar month, we slaughtered a pig and sold half of it at 26 yuan per kilogram. Since my father never uses feed when raising pigs, the pork was quite popular.
On the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month, we tidied up and organized things.
The 24th day of the twelfth lunar month is Little New Year.
From the 25th to the 28th: Visiting relatives.
The 29th: Preparing for the New Year.
We departed on the third day of the first lunar month and rested overnight in Hengshui.
Arrived in Beijing on the fourth day of the new year.
Requires an entry permit for Beijing. Used it twice in February, so one less use this year. The car was driven from Shanghai. Purchased in 2017, it's already eight years old but has only clocked over 30,000 kilometers.
This year felt less festive. The town was crowded during the holiday days, but usually very quiet.
Didn't watch the Spring Festival Gala.
Played several mahjong games with family. Overall, I came out ahead.
