November 28-30, 2025: Attended the 18th North-South Five Universities Doctoral Forum at Wuhan University. This was my first time participating in this forum.
I reunited with old friends Professor Chen Yuehua and Professor Zhang Qingjiang, met senior scholar Professor Wang Xinsheng, and made new acquaintances.
I reviewed one paper on Song-Ming Neo-Confucianism, one on the sociology of religion, and one on the philosophy of science and technology. Though it was a bit of a stretch, I still gained some insights. However, research is becoming increasingly specialized, and the gap between different fields is evident. In the final session, one student even discussed AI's active prediction using mathematical formulas, which was quite interesting. One issue is that while common terms like “self” or “subject” are used across disciplines, their meanings vary significantly. Additionally, most papers lacked a literature review.
