The *Journal of Research for Christianity in China* (semi-annual; hereinafter referred to as JRCC) has an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) of 3068-479X and is published in June and December of each year. The journal focuses primarily on research on Christianity in China, but also welcomes scholarly articles on Chinese philosophy, thought, culture, and religion. The journal is now part of the Huayi Digital Library, is indexed in databases such as EBSCO and ProQuest, and operates on the OJS platform (URL: https://CCSpub.cc/JRCC). To encourage and promote research on Christianity in China, we are issuing a call for applications for the 2026 Outstanding Paper Award. We invite young scholars interested in the study of Christianity in China to take note of this opportunity and apply.
1. Eligibility: Current doctoral students or postdoctoral researchers whose research is related to Christian studies.
2. Young scholars interested in applying for the award should complete the application form (see attached) and submit it via email to the address provided in this notice by the specified deadline. Upon approval, winners will be notified by November 5, 2026. At that time, recipients must bring valid identification and all application materials to the designated location to claim their award. The award amount is 5,000 RMB, and each recipient will be presented with a certificate of award. The essay award includes several categories, such as the Grand Prize and First Prize.
3. This year’s award ceremony will be held in conjunction with the “Christian Studies Workshop,” during which award recipients are required to present their research papers and share their research insights. The tentative dates are December 18, 2026 (Friday afternoon) through December 19 (Saturday morning), with the location to be determined.
The preliminary schedule for the workshop is as follows: Check-in by 12:00 PM on Friday, December 18; sessions on the afternoon of the 18th and the morning of the 19th; and departure after lunch on the 19th. The workshop will feature keynote speeches by senior scholars, who will also participate in paper reviews.
4. Please note: (1) Submission to JRCC is required for all applications for the Outstanding Paper Award; winning papers will proceed directly to the blind peer-review process; (2) Winning papers may not be voluntarily withdrawn or submitted to other journals; (3) Papers that pass peer review will be published in JRCC at a later date, and authors will receive an honorarium. 5. Award recipients from cities other than the workshop venue will each receive a travel subsidy of 1,000 RMB. Accommodation and meal expenses during the workshop will be covered by the journal.
